PrivateFly has recently released a statement remarking the potential and benefit of having Bitcoin (BTC) as a payment method. PrivateFly is a prominent flight booking service for private jets that are based in the United Kingdom.
According to PrivateFly, the company has now started experiencing a surge in the number of payments coming in from Bitcoin (BTC). The company has revealed that the surge has come in from the month of January 2021.
The company also shared a report surrounding the detailed analysis of the payments and flights booked. As per figures, 19% of the company’s revenue for the last month was generated through payments that were accepted in Bitcoin (BTC).
Quite surprisingly, the total percentage of the flights booked through payments from Bitcoin (BTC) was 13%. The company has revealed that it is a significant increase against the figures that are observed in terms of Bitcoin (BTC) in the former years.
PrivateFly has revealed that in the past years, only 1% or 2% of the total revenue was generated by the payments received in Bitcoin (BTC). However, the company has not provided any further data and stats apart from the revenue.
PrivateFly is a well-renowned company for booking chartered and private jets for high-profile people and celebrities. The company revealed that although it had been launched back in 2005, the business was doing okay before it integrated Bitcoin (BTC).
According to the firm, it was back in 2014, when the decision-makers at the company decided to take another risky step. They decided to integrate Bitcoin (BTC) as one of the payment methods for private jet flight bookings.
The managing team at PrivateFly has revealed that in the beginning, the platform was not able to perform much. However, as time passed by and 2017 came in, things started becoming clearer for the company. The company realized that it had made the right decision at the right time and this is the reason why the company has received a huge helping hand from Bitcoin (BTC).
The company has revealed that despite the pandemic and travel restrictions, the company has been able to make a lot of profits. As the cryptocurrency business and adoption boomed in the year 2020, the payments through Bitcoin (BTC) started going sky-high for the company as well.
The company is now observing a huge influx of clients that are willing to pay for the chartered jets via Bitcoin (BTC). The company has also revealed that requests for other cryptocurrency payment services are also coming in.
Therefore, the company has also added major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin Cash (BCH), USD Coin (USDC), and Ethereum (ETH), to the payment methods.
